John Frischer and the Squares: Buy it
Life as a Square - CD
high energy rock anthems, as well as a few strong, passionate slow songs. The songs provide a witty and colorful soundtrack to the life of a "Square", or the average youthful suburbanite, like found in Chesterfield Missouri . The songs tackle issues from high school girls to teachers, and what it's like getting into trouble with both. Yet many of the songs transcend these bounds and leave universally understood themes such as perseverance and the troubles of society. These themes all wrap around classic musical melodies and progressions that keep the disk fun and enjoyable from beginning to end.
Life As A Square is comprised of 12 original songs composed by John Frischer. On the album, Henry Leacock plays drums, except for 1 song- "Take Me Away" by Max Holter. Gareth Briscoe plays cello on the last track, "Piano Song." John plays and sings virtually everything else.
